Spain
Breathing difficulty, collapse, seizures, serious injury or suspected poisoning: call an emergency vet immediately. Do not wait for symptoms after a possible toxic exposure.
Country-labelled UK references are not Spanish services or legal rules. Use the Spain guidance below for local planning.

Owner resilience and home health
Seasonal household hazards
Plan Christmas, Easter, Halloween and summer gatherings without losing sight of everyday risks.
Celebrations and decorations
At Christmas protect against chocolate, dried-fruit foods, alcohol, plants, ribbons and battery decorations. Easter brings chocolate and wrappers; Halloween sweets may include chocolate or xylitol and accessible costumes/decorations. Keep treats separate from dog food and ask visitors to secure bags.
Winter and summer routines
Winter vehicle fluids and indoor medicines/cleaners need secure storage. Summer gatherings add skewers, bones, hot surfaces, alcohol and overflowing bins; heat and escape risks also matter. Keep doors/gates managed while visitors arrive.
One prevention check before guests
Check food, medicines, plants, rubbish, batteries and a quiet dog retreat. Suspected exposure needs immediate advice, not seasonal reassurance. Fireworks preparation · Seasonal outdoor hazards · Room-by-room checklist.
