Swedish public broadcaster SVT reports that German Shepherd Sid has been named Sweden’s Police Dog of the Year 2026. The award recognises his work tracing suspects and locating evidence. During one arrest, handler Jesper Wretman says Sid intervened when Wretman fell into deep water and was unable to surface.
